Requirements
To understand the business and its requirements properly, iSTORM was tasked with undertaking a detailed gap analysis. Particular attention was given to data flows, documented procedures, and the associated controls. The results of the gap analysis were shared with the Director of Quality Assurance and the Senior Leadership Team and an action plan was put in place to move the business towards a position of increased compliance, reducing the overall risk while also increasing the confidence of key clients.

Outcome
Bionical chose to progress with the iSTORM outsourced DPO solution which provides specialist data protection support. As part of the DPO service, the designated DPO for Bionical attends regular Data Protection Forum meetings onsite at the Head Office in Willington, Derbyshire, and provides ongoing support to the business with its data processing activities, including reviewing and commenting on DPIA’s, data sharing agreements and advising on the concept of data protection by design.
